This Japanese four-holes binding has just a few sheets. 1/4 of the cover is in fabric, and 3/4 hand-painted waxed paper. The endpapers are hand-painted with paste. The chosen colour is orange. It is an oblong A5. The covers are sewn to the single sheets with waxed cotton thread.
The covers have a hinge that makes easy to open the sketchbook.
This kind of binding is usually used for soft covers, for its ease of sewing it. But it gives a good result with hard covers like the ones that I used.
