Japanese Hemp Leaf Binding

Another Japanese binding. Today a "hemp leaf binding". This sewing seems slightly more complicated, but it is not. The whole cover is lilac fabric and in the middle a picture with flowers. The endpapers are hand-painted with paste. The chosen colour is lilac. It is an oblong A5 (approximately). The covers are sewn to the single sheets with waxed cotton thread in sky blue colour. The covers have a hinge that makes easy to open the sketchbook. It is a perfect binding for someone who loves to be drawing or writing the whole time. It is easy to open and close without wearing out the covers nor the paper.
